What is polyaspartic?
Polyaspartic is a coating that cures much faster than standard epoxy and stays clear in sunlight. We use it as a base coat, a topcoat, or both, often with flake in between. Because it sets up quickly, the crew works fast and in small sections.
How does it compare with epoxy?
- Speed. A polyaspartic system usually finishes in about a day. Our two-day epoxy system takes longer to cure.
- Sunlight. It does not yellow in UV, which matters for garages that sit open and for patios.
- Temperature. It can go down in a wider range of temperatures, handy in cold months.
- Cost. The material costs more than epoxy, so the job usually does too.
Why choose it here?
Muskogee gets hot, humid summers, hard cold snaps in winter, and strong spring storms, so garage slabs see heat, moisture, and mud. A UV-stable, fast-cure topcoat handles open garage doors and short install windows between weather changes.
Can it go over an old floor?
Yes, once we grind off whatever is failing. If your current coating shows peeling or hot-tire marks, we take off the loose material, fix the slab, and recoat.
Polyaspartic FAQs
Does it smell?
There is an odor during the install. We ventilate the space, and it fades fast as the coating cures.
Is it as tough as epoxy?
Yes. As a topcoat it often resists scratches and stains better than a standard epoxy clear coat.
